Cell Phone Safety

Parents across the country protect their children by installing firewalls, monitoring software and blocking software. They keep the computer in a communal area of the house and watch their kids when they are online. They think they have done everything they can to create a wall between predators and their kids but the vast majority of parents fail to consider that predators are reaching their children through their cell phones – a device parents buy for their children as a safety measure.

Cell phones are a wonderful way for parents and their children to stay in contact with one another. They're supposed to give parents some semblance of peace of mind, but those same cell phones that once provided parents with a means of communicating with their offspring in times of need or during an emergency are quickly becoming the newest technological gadget for pedophiles and predators to use to prep children for sexual encounters.

Most parents know and understand the diligence needed to keep their children safe from Internet predators and unsolicited and inappropriate material. But parents now need to apply that same diligence to their children's cell phone usage.
